Grub for large bass

The plastic lure  that catch large bass.Small mouths in particular.
They work the best in clear water,But are just effective in muddy or stained water.Most anglers use them as a deep water lure but they can also be used efficiently in the shallows as well.
They are usually fished with a jig head.
The clearer the water that you are fishing the smaller the jig head and grub size you should be using.
Smallmouth bass prefer smaller grubs.While Large mouth bass like a bigger size.
For small mouth bass using a 1/16 ounce or a 1/8 ounce jig head and a 3″ grub with have great results.
When fishing for Large mouth bass you must change things a little though.So for them you would use a 3/16 to 1/4 ounce jig head and a 5″ grub.That will get good results since the Largemouth likes the bigger size.

  Colors

Most bass anglers tend to use bright colors with grubs.White,chartreuse,pumpkin seed,yellow and smoke work very well and catch a lot of fish.
Some  have flakes in there body.What this does is reflect light .Which in return can entice a bite and help you catch fish.
In clear water try using brighter color grubs.
While in stained or muddy water try darker color grubs work best.

 Techniques

Drop it
Fish it on slack line and hop it slowly back to you.Make sure to feel for anything between the hops.
Swim it
This technique is used best with a curly tail grub.
Cats it out and wait about about 15 seconds,then begin slow and steady retrieve.
Dart it
cast it out,let sink for a few seconds,jerk the rod tip to cause the grub to move quickly then just keep repeating that action.
